Large-Scale Puppets | Unique Art Installations.
Design | Build | Perform.
City of Melbourne have worked with A Blanck Canvas over the last three years on Moomba from puppet concept, to final design and construction and parade day performance. The way Joe translates the creative vision from the paper to a fully formed puppet that is then bought to life with his very skilled team of puppeteers constantly has our audience in awe. We would not hesitate to recommend working with A Blanck Canvas to any organisation.
Joe Blanck and team have been working with White Night Melbourne since 2017 when they created what has become the event’s iconic mascot and its most photographed performance and installation work, “The White Night Messenger”. This work was conceived, designed, constructed, rehearsed and performed under the direction, skill and expertise of Joe and his team. I have no hesitation in endorsing Joe, his company, and his team in all they do, they are first class creators and practitioners.
A Blanck Canvas designed, built and performed at Melbourne Zoo a section of our show “Waterhole” based on a section of Graeme Base’s classic, much loved book. Over 16 nights and 48 shows, all with capacity audiences, the Blanck Canvas puppets, staging and performers mesmerised over 14,000 audience members. There was not a single hitch over the entire performance period. Highly professional, collaborative and open. A Blanck Canvas are a delight to deal with. Highly recommended.
