What if a venue could become part of the story?

For Arcane Fairies Melbourne, we had the opportunity to help transform 185 Lonsdale Street into an immersive world of fantasy, creating a collection of bespoke sculptural installations designed to turn a night out into something unforgettable.

At the heart of the venue are four handcrafted fairy characters, each brought to life through a combination of digital fabrication and traditional artistry. Beginning as 3D printed forms, the sculptures were painstakingly sanded, filled, and finished with a durable polyurethane coating before being hand-painted to create the appearance of aged bronze and weathered stone. Perched upon sculpted tree-ring bases, the fairies feature shimmering acrylic wings with integrated lighting systems concealed behind them, creating an ethereal glow throughout the venue.

Beyond the characters themselves, we also designed and fabricated the illuminated sign above the bar and crafted a custom ceremonial key used for the venue’s exclusive events, adding further layers of storytelling and identity to the space.

From fabrication through to final installation, every element was designed to fit seamlessly within the venue while withstanding the demands of a busy hospitality environment. Combining sculpture, lighting, and immersive storytelling, the project demonstrates how custom hospitality installations can transform bars, restaurants, and entertainment venues into destinations people remember long after the night ends.
